What make a town a jungle? Poet fererdrick kanemba’ town called yemba yomusangie was called a jungle to every to every one so he wrote this poem because it uses soud, im ages and gives new persective on life.

The poem a jungle sounds great because it ryms at randonm and that makes the ryms more interesting it also has repitition. The line ‘why should anyon e call this town a jungle . this give it a 10 out of 10 for sound.

The poem has great imadry becaue it discides the town so vivcidly. The second stanza is a great example.’ A town foll of scools , restaurants, mansion , roads well know companies. I give it a 5 out of 10 herwe becaue it only uses 1 of the 5 sences vbut no poet perfect.

The poem best of all give a new perspective. It m,ake you see his home town very bdiffent. Like in this ‘why should anyone call  this town a jungle , is there any moral justif

LA Cops

Matthew Colon

Today police work is as dangerous as ever, and the crime rate is going up. The question many people are asking is are cops under paid. I interviewed people my LA class asking each for there opinions. There ended up being two opinions. Cops are risking their lives so they should have more benefits. The second is cops are doing an important service. Jazz was one of the people for the paid for risking there lives group. She said,” I Believe that cops are under paid because they put their life’s on the line while entertainers are paid more.” The others or Paid for doing such an important cervice group. One of them is Brianna who said,” There our security and need to be appreciated.” To sum everything up, my LA class believes that police are under paid, but they are divided on the reasons why.

Today we rely heavily on lights, microwaves, computers and cars to get though our every day lives. Most of these things have one thing in common. They are each powered by electricity. Our nuclear reactors produce this energy. Enrico Fermi is considered to have invented nuclear energy. Without his out his study we would still be using candle to light our homes.

Enrico was born in Rome, raised and live in Rome for a lot of his life. He would have stayed on that side of the world if it were not for Germany. Right before World War Two Germany had persecuted the Jewish community. Fermi’s feared for his wife’s safety because she was Jewish. The U.S.A was everyone had the freedom of speech and religion no matter what race you were. Not to mention in a grate depression however it was still one of the safest places on earth. Fermi took refugee there like many others. In the U.S. Fermi’s experts and well known work as a physicist quickly got him a job. He was later asked to join the Manhattan project [which was started in secret to create a bomb to destroy Germany and Japan]. Fermi played a big roll in the bombs making and invented many of the key formula that are still used today to build bombs today. When the nuclear bombs

Were finish two were dropped. First one was dropped on Hiroshima and another one on Nagasaki. Not very long after this Japan surrendered.

People are still inventing weapons of mass destruction to use on there enemies. Fermi’s formulas and concepts still are widely used by government programs and terrorist groups. For this you can thank or blame Fermi.

After the war was over Fermi continued inventing. He had patents on over 20 different inventions. That is when he made the improved Nuclear reactor.

Today electric energy is widely used. Nuclear power plants are used to

Create the energy needed in America. [Year 2005] In Pennsylvania 9 reactors produced 70,000 million Kilowatts of nuclear power. We would not have enough energy to support America without Fermi’s reactor creating new dependable energy every day.

Fermi had a huge impact on the entire world. In the U.S. he helped invent nuclear weapons and helped America win world war two. With his reactor he provided Americans with electricity. His formulas were used to create bombs that could destroy the world and pulled the America into the cold war. Fermi was one of the most influential people of all time.

Reflections

The raise was not very close. Obama won by what seemed like a land slide. I believe It was because hew supported the middle class, which is made up of most of America. He was against the bush administration and so was the middle class. McCain supported different views and was supported by most of the upper class. Obama took advantage of this by implying that McCain did not want to help the poorer class. I think that this is dumb they both act like congress men, Trying to help any one. There job is to be commander and chef no more and to deal with forin affairs . Obama gave the biggest class a false hope that is why he won. He will not do much of what he promised.

Matts final

Our leaders and politicians tell us many stories like the stories of the lives but have you ever stopped to think are any of them true? The book animal farm shows how twisting stories gives you a hold over who ever your lying to. The animals reacted differently to each story. In animal farm the way characters respond to stories has a strong connection to their ability to survive.

Napoleon mastered the art of story telling and ended up controlling every thing. Napoleon first chased Snowball away from the farm. All the animals had seen what he had donned. He said however that Snowball was a traitor and the animal believed him. Then he blamed Snowball for the windmill accident. Most of the animals still believed Napoleon. His worst lie was to boxer. He told him he was going to the vet. Boxer believed it and went to the knackers. Napoleon’s twisted stories made him the dominant animal on animal farm.

Boxer did not once question Napoleon and ended the worsted of them all. He thought that Napoleon was always right. Napoleon had a huge hold over him. One-day boxer walked into a truck, after being injured. Nap said that it was a vet but Benjamin found out that it was a knacker’s truck [horse killer]. Boxer was killed, and Nap lied about that too. He gave out that the van was just bought and the owner had not yet painted over it yet. Boxer got ruled by the story and because of that he died.

Benjamin had questions Napoleon and he did not loose most of his rights. He did this by always keeping an ear open to news. He also had many suspicions, as a result he new that the commandments were changing. He did not believe much of what he was told by Nap. He did not believe that Boxer was taken to the vet. On page 123 in the book Ben found out that Boxer was in a knackers truck. Ben did not let the stories rule him and he did very well.

The characters to respond to stories are linked to there ability to survive. Nap mastered the art of story telling and ruled over animal farm with an iron fist. Boxer let the story master him by just did what he was told and ended up turned to glue. Ben did not let Nap's stories rule him by questioned Nap and ended up o.k. This shows that if one stays smart and does what he knows is right can survive well in any environment.

election blog

I have researched the topics in the election, I believe that the war is the biggest issue. Many of us want to withdraw from the war. Some families have lost loved ones to the war and there has been no benefit. Barack Obama saports a slow withdraw of all combat brigades.Obama will do his best pull the toops out and that is why I sopport Barack Obama.
